EARHART. Signed Photograph, no place, no date.
An unusual photograph of Amelia Earhart, the American aviator who achieved
fame as the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in June 1928.
Earhart then went on to set many other flight records before disappearing
on an attempted round-the-world flight in 1937.
This 8" x 10", black-and-white photo shows Earhart in a very
candid, relaxed pose; she is seated, indoors, in what is likely the
living or dining room of a private home. She is looking slightly upward
and to the right and is smiling broadly. She wears a plaid skirt and
a dark sweater, and has a small scarf tied around her neck. Her hands
are folded in her lap.
She has signed against the light background at the center right, “Amelia
Earhart.” The ink skipped very slightly, but the signature
is overall dark and clear.
The photo is in very good condition, with just a few minor spots and
slight corner creases.
An appealing, youthful image of Earhart. $1750.00
